MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A cooler, breezy morning across South Florida.

Most areas woke to the 60s in the wake of a cold front that led to storms and very warm, humid weather on Wednesday. The front is now well offshore and the wind flow is over the land from the northwest with sustained winds in the 15 to 20 mile per hour range with gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.

The clouds are thinning out and we'll continue to see clearing throughout the day allowing for much more sunshine today.

Despite the sun, highs will only climb to the mild low 70s this afternoon.

Thursday night will be even colder with lows falling to the low 50s with a few areas possible dipping down to the upper 40s.

Fridays highs will remain cool with the upper 60s and low 70s. Saturday morning will likely be the coldest morning this week with most areas dropping to the upper 40s and coastal areas in the low 50s.

With high pressure in control, this weekend will be beautiful, breezy, mainly dry and pleasant with highs around 70 on Saturday. Sunday morning will still be chilly with low 50s and highs in the low to mid 70s.

A warming trend expected early next week will bring highs in the upper 70s on Monday and back to the 80s by Tuesday.
