Baseball's Best Facial Hair: Past And Present

New Miami Marlins manager Don Mattingly was known during his playing days for having a great mustache.
Throughout his playing days and his early days as a coach and manager, Mattingly and his mustache were inseparable.
During the past couple years however, Miami's skipper has adopted a more clean-shaven look and he's going to make sure that all of his Marlins players follow the same sentiment.
Mattingly made news earlier this week by instituting a facial hair ban for all Marlins players and coaches, a move that drew criticism from the American Mustache Institute who said "Mattingly has turned his back on an opportunity to celebrate his Mustached American roots."
Nevertheless, the impending lack of facial hair in Miami's dugout this season led to the idea that we should celebrate some of the best facial hair in baseball, as there have been some epic looks in recent (and not-so-recent) years.
