FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) — Ft. Lauderdale has agreed to settle a suit with a man who police arrested for possession of Ecstasy.

Seems the cops didn't know the difference between the illegal drug and aspirin.

Antonio Grant, 37, sued the city and police officers Jared Gross and Steven Johnson last year, claiming false arrest, battery and unlawful search during a 2013 traffic stop.

When Grant reached into the glove compartment, Gross recovered the suspected drugs, according to court documents. The officer said that from his training, he recognized the pills as Ecstasy pills.

The suit states Grant was handcuffed, had his pockets searched and that an officer checked his rectum for drugs.

Officer Gross says Grant reached in the glove compartment where Gross recovered the suspected drugs. He says that from his training, he recognized the pills as Ecstasy pills.

Grant's attorney Hugh Koerner says it was outrageous that Grant was jailed. The city settled Grant's suit for $30,000.
