MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Crews airlifted a student to the hospital following a fight at Redland Middle School on Thursday afternoon.

The fight broke out between two male students at the school located at 16001 SW 248 Street, according to Miami Dade Schools Police.

During the course of the fight, one of the fighting students fell to the floor and hit his head.

Rescue considered the student's injury to be serious enough to air rescue him or her to Nicholas Children's Hospital . The student's condition is unknown at this time but school officials said he was responsive.

Miami Dade Schools Police said they are investigating the incident and will interview those involved. No one will be charged in connection to the fight.

A parent picking up his child at the school on Thursday said news of the fight concerned him.

"You get nervous about it because it seems like all these young kids have lost their mind," said Steven Sandifer. "You would like to be able to think that the child is safe while they're away in school. That's one place you think you can send your kids and you don't have to worry about them but now, the way things are going, it just makes you wonder."
