Woman Dies In Officer Involved Crash

PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) --A woman is dead after an officer-involved crash in Pembroke Pines overnight.

It happened just after 2 a.m. at the intersection of Pines Boulevard and Northwest 114th Avenue.

Witnesses said the driver of an Infiniti, Jessica Lee Bonilla, 24, of Miami Lakes, ran a red light causing the crash.

Bonilla later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Rescue crews rushed Officer Olayemi Okegbola to Memorial Regional Hospital where he is listed as stable.

Okegbola has been with the Pembroke Pines Police Department for over nine years.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to police. No charges have been filed.
