MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The Miami Boat Show is just a few weeks away and this year it will be held at the Miami Marine Stadium parking basin.

Organizers say it's the most environmentally safe show on the water across the state.

The temporary marina sits on a quarter mile waterfront property along Virginia Key.

It features new docks, using green building materials and renewable resources without any dangerous chemicals that could harm the marine life.

"The environmental parts we used, encapsulated foam docks, and the  green hard pilot renewable resources are going to make this so number one," said Glen Larson with Dock & Marine Construction Corp.

The boat show will have everything related to water fun, including yachts, speed boats and sports fishing.

There will be seven or eight new restaurants, including one on the water, a beer garden, and a pizza building station for the kids.

Drivers won't have to worry about parking.

"We have over 10,000 parking spots across the bay and what better way to come to the boat show than driving in, paying for your parking and jumping on a free water taxi or bus," said Transportation & Security Director George Navarro.

The Miami Marine Stadium has been abandoned since hurricane Andrew. The old stadium will be closed during the boat show.
