WEST PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Authorities have given the all clear after a bomb scare prompted the evacuation of a West Palm Beach naval reserve Thursday morning.

It started after a suspicious person was spotted and detained at the Navy Reserve Center located in the 1200 block of Marine Drive just before 10:30 a.m., according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

That's when they found two back packs in the person's possession, prompting an evacuation of the Navy Reserve Center and areas nearby to be shut down.

Bomb squad crews were called in to investigate the contents inside the bags but ended up giving the all-clear when they found personal items inside.

Roads nearby were shut down during the investigation.  The eastbound and westbound lanes of Belvedere Road were also shut down between Military Trail and Congress Avenue.
