Husband, 81, Charged After Wife Is Attacked With Hammer

MIAMi (CBSMiami) -- A man has been charged in an attack that left his wife in critical condition Saturday inside their Miami apartment.
After hearing screams for help, Miami Police said they broke down the front door to the couple's home at 635 S.W. 7th Court and saw Guillermo Jose Duarte, 81, beating his wife with a hammer.
She was immediately taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, listed in critical but stable condition.
Duarte was arrested and charged with one count of premeditated attempted murder.
