MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Mister Neon was hoisted up as Mister 305 sang his greatest hits – ringing in the New Year South Florida style.

But just a few hours after the chaos comes the clean-up.

"We did a pretty good job of cleaning up. It's gone pretty smooth so far," said Ricky Peña who is part of the cleaning crew.

Crews were out well before and after the sun came up, dismantling the stage and picking up garbage left behind from party goers.

Thousands of people celebrated the New Year in Bayfront Park with Pitbull.

"We're like let's go down to the waterfront. I don't want to go to South Beach. It's too crazy. This is fun. It's nice," said Rayni Covax from Canada.

"It was well worth it. Pitbull! Well worth it! Yes," said Tey Rivers who came in from Nashville, Tennessee.

"A friend of ours told us about it. We love Pitbull. So we're like yeah, let's go see Pitbull," said Karen Hill who came in from Charlotte, S.C.

After Pitbull finished his show. Mr. Neon was sitting happily on the side of the Intercontinental. It was time to close up shop.

At 5 a.m., the owners of concession stands washed their dishes and headed home after what must have been a lucrative evening feeding the merry masses.

With that, good bye 2015 and hello 2016.  Here's to a happy new year.
