Janet Jackson Postpones "Unbreakable" Stop At BB&T Center

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Pop icon Janet Jackson has postponed her Unbreakable World Tour, which included a date at The BB&T Center in Sunrise on March 9th, 2016.

On Christmas Eve, the Grammy winning singer announced the delay on Twitter.

Her tweet read in part," I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced."

She also asked that fans pray for her and her family.

"I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon' b alright," she concluded.

The tour stop in South Florida is expected to be rescheduled for some time during the summer. Fans who are unable to attend the rescheduled date can receive refunds at their point of purchase.

Unbreakable, Jackson's 11th studio album, was released on October 2nd.

Jackson, who has sold more than 160 million records worldwide, has won six Grammys, along with dozens of American Music Awards, BET honors, Billboard Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.
