DAVIE (CBSMiami) – It's safe to say the fashion Thursday night was out of this world. From stylish storm troopers to pretty princess, wooly wookies and more, many attended the unofficial opening of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" at Cinemark Paradise Theatre in Davie.

"How excited are you to be here?" Lisa Petrillo asked a man dressed as Darth Vader.

"I am very excited! Very, very!" he replied.

Many of the Star Wars fans at Cinemark Paradise pulled an all-nighter, attending a six-film marathon that began at 3 a.m. and ended at 6:30 p.m. which was just in time for the opening of the seventh installment at 7 p.m.

Many select theaters held their own marathons as well.

AMC Aventura started their session Wednesday at 1 a.m. with "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace." That was followed by Episodes II and III and continued into the classic trilogy throughout Thursday, leading up to the big premiere at 7 p.m.

Fan excitement is an understatement.

"It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Most of us grew up with Star Wars and it's seven movies, granted that's a lot," said Marlene Mercado. "But it's the experience. We are meeting new people and well, this never really happens in Florida. So for one night I can lose some sleep."

Some fans came prepared for the all-day event.

"We're about to get Starbucks," said Elizabeth O'Toole, who came all the way from Jacksonville. "We took a nap first and now we're gonna get Starbucks."

The theater offered a breakfast break between Episodes III and IV and will offer a dinner break between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

And spoiler alert!

The movie is good, really good.

"It was fantastic. It was everything you could expect and more!" said one movie-goer.
