Woman Leaves Child In Car While Shopping

TAMPA (CBSMiami/AP) - A Tampa area mother was arrested Thursday after she reportedly left her year old son inside her car while she went shopping.

Jasmine Emani Jones, 21, faces felony child neglect charges. A security guard at the University Mall spotted the boy in the car and called the county's sheriff's office.

The Tampa Tribune reports the child was sweating but not injured. Surveillance video showed the boy was left for about 40 minutes while his mother shopped at Macy's.

Child protective services took custody of the boy and is making arrangements to place him with relatives.
