MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – "Size doesn't always matter" is the name of the theme and name of the game at the brand new, fast casual dining concept in North Miami Beach called Sliderz.

This colorful and edgy sit down or take away spot is the brain child of local restaurateur Buzzy Sklar who created Burger and Beer Joint on South Beach years ago.

"I didn't want just to do a burger anymore. I wanted to give people a choice. That's why here at Sliderz we have 15 types of sliders: beef, pork, chicken, fish, and, of course, our regular burger slider," Sklar said.

And don't be fooled by the fast service, Sliderz is the healthy alternative.

"We use grass fed beef, hormone free, locally ranched chicken, line caught fish," he said.

Sliderz aims to set itself apart by healthy food and high tech branding.

A selfie station begins the ordering process. Yes, they're social media savvy.

Another goal? To bring families in with price points that are also easy to digest.

"We're everywhere, from $2 to $4 per slider. So we're priced for a family," he explained. "They know they can come here and get something healthier than fast food. And you can order individually or order 8 stacks which is great for parties."

This North Miami store is the first of many on the way for Sliderz. Seven are planned, with the next spot in Plantation.

"Hopefully we'll be that great local success story," he said.

CBS4's Lisa Petrillo started the taste test with the classic slider burger.

"The meat is really tender. It's not over cooked which can happen in  tiny burgers, and  it seasoned perfectly. The bread is sweet and fresh and doughy and delicious," Petrillo said.

Next was the veggie slider. It's known as Dr. Praeger's Veggie Sliders.

"The veggie burger is super tasty. There's corn it and tomatoes.  It's really delicious and it  doesn't no taste like a typical bland veggie burger."

There's a line caught blackened Mahi slider, but Petrillo went for the big guns.

"The mother lode! Chicken Parmesan topped with mozzarella," she said before biting in.

A pint sized Italian meal in a bun.

"Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and real nice marinara and cheese. It's one adorable sandwich slider," she said.

Sliderz, where size doesn't matter but taste certainly does.

Sliderz is located at 1817 NE 123rd St. and is open seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
