MIAMI (CBSMiami) — A Miami-Dade police bomb squad has given the all clear after checking out a suspicious item at a Hialeah school.
Hialeah Fire Rescue Capt. Cesar Espinosa said what appears to be a pressure cooker was left or placed underneath a tree on the northeast side of Hialeah Elementary School at 550 East 8th Street.
The school was evacuated as a precaution. The children were taken to the nearby Curtiss Library.
The bomb squad checked out the cooker and deemed there was nothing dangerous about it.
The children were then allowed to return to school.
