MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- As always, Victor Sanchez was up early Wednesday preparing to go to work at the laundromat he owns in Miami. His morning routine would soon be broken.

Sanchez heard a noise coming from the front of his house and went out to investigate. As he approached his pickup truck, a young man wearing light-colored pants, a gray hoodie, and pointing a pistol emerged from the truck.

"A guy pulls out a gun, a young kid pulls out a gun on me and tells me a couple of bad words and tells me don't come at me or I'll shoot you," Sanchez told CBS4's Gary Nelson.

The whole thing was captured on multiple security cameras Sanchez has covering all angles from his house.

The security video shows Sanchez making a fast retreat to his front door, as the gunman continues to point the pistol at him and curse the homeowner, threatening to shoot him.

Sanchez said he's not sure he should've remained in the burglar's line of fire, in a verbal exchange from his front door.

"I was very shaky, I was pretty scared. But at that moment we really don't realize the things we do," Sanchez said.

The security video shows two of the gunman's alleged accomplices across the street where other cars were discovered to have been burglarized.

The three made off in a car with a getaway driver who was waiting for them.

Sanchez, who is licensed to carry a concealed handgun, told CBS4 News he is glad he didn't take his gun with him when he went out and confronted the armed burglar.

"Thank God I didn't take it out because a young kid like that with a gun in his hand, you don't know what they're capable of doing," Sanchez said. "He may be more afraid of me and maybe shoot me first."

The next time he hears a noise outside, Sanchez says he'll just watch his security camera monitors and call the cops. No more confronting burglars packing pistols.

Miami Police are requesting of the public's help in nabbing this group of burglars, at least one of whom is known to be armed.

The auto burglary and confrontation caught on camera this morning happened about 4:20 AM at the Sanchez home in the Silver Bluff neighborhood off Coral Way.

Anyone with information is asked call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
