The Miami Dolphins lost another ugly game on Sunday, dropping their seventh contest of the season by 18 points to the hated New York Jets.

As has been the case many times in recent years, the news of the day didn't come on the field but rather in the hours following the game.

Much of it surrounds the wife of Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes.

Tamiko 'Miko' Grimes has never apologized for her outspoken nature, and there's no reason why she should.

She isn't employed by the NFL, but is married to one of its employees.

Generally, it isn't wise for the companion of someone to openly criticize their place of business, but when it comes to professional sports where as long as you produce on the playing field your job is pretty safe, she is probably ok to call it like she sees it.

When you take into account that Miko has an inside track to behind the scenes happenings around the Dolphins and the NFL, it also might be wise not to dismiss what she says just because of the passion that can come with it.

She received some attention earlier this year for laying into the league for the way it has handled head injuries to its players and its view on domestic violence.

Following Sunday's loss to the Jets, Grimes took to Twitter just as she has done many times before and laid into her husband's team.  Well, more specifically, the team's owner Stephen Ross.

how do u trust an owner that would put his team in position 2 play SEVEN of its first NINE games on the road so the stadium can be finished?

i dont know about u guys, but that tells me all i need to know about this organization.

Ross has been scrutinized by fans and media members for years.

Yes, he's more than willing to open up his wallet and spend money to make the team better, but it's the questionable decisions of who to put in charge and what that money ends up going towards that has been a hot topic for most of his tenure as owner.

Needless to say, Grimes received her fair share of backlash from her latest 'Twitter rant', if you want to call it that.

Now let's fast forward to Monday morning, where a different kind of news about Grimes was released.

She was in the news earlier this year when she was arrested outside of Sun Life Stadium before the Dolphins home game against the Buffalo Bills.

The arrest was caught on camera and went viral, as did the charges that followed.

Two felony charges for battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest, in addition to charges for assaulting a police officer and disorderly conduct.

However, once an investigation into the charges was made by Grimes' defense attorney, several holes in the police report were found that led to some, but not all, of the felony charges being dropped or reduced in early November.

On Monday the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office cleared Grimes, issuing a nolle prosequi for the remaining charges against her, according to court records.

Unfortunately, the news of her being cleared won't get nearly as much attention as the initial arrest did.

With so much negativity surrounding the Dolphins this season, it's understandable why people are so captivated by this outspoken wife of one of Miami's best players.

And while I may not agree with all the backlash that she receives, it's not uncommon for people to revolt against what they simply don't want to hear, even if it is the truth.
