NORTH MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Three teenage suspects were taken into custody after a shooting at a high school football game sent a panicked crowd fleeing from the stands.

Mark Trimble, 19, Kaion Lynch, 18, and Larico Walker, 18, face several charges including carrying a firearm onto school property.

Police recovered three weapons and believe the teens may have fired their guns into the air.

It happened during the playoff game between Miami Central and Miami Carol City High at Traz Powell Stadium.

Players on the field took to cover by hitting the dirt as police rushed to help a frantic crowd escape the area.

Spectators took to Instagram and Twitter to capture the scene.

Officials cleared the area and called the game with 2:58 remaining in the 4th quarter.

Central beat Carol City 36-8.

The shooting Friday night follows a series of gun violence that's plagued high school students in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties, including the fourth shooting victim from Miami Northwestern High this school year, Johnny Lubin, Jr., who was killed Wednesday walking home from school.

Saturday morning, Superintendent of Miami-Dade Schools Alberto Carvalho tweeted about the latest incident.
