MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Ten years ago this November, 17-year-old Evan Page was murdered.  A decade later, his family repeats their plea: "Help us find his killer."

"I visited my brother on his birthday, August 16," his brother, Ronald Page, said bursting into tears. "I immediately broke down before I got there because it's hard dealing with."

For the Page family, the pain is still fresh and raw nearly 10 years later.

"Why'd they pick my 17 year old grandson to take his life from him?" asks his grandmother Luella Page, who raised him. "He was very loveable."

Making this more painful, the killer is still out there.

It was November 29 of 2005 when Evan and a friend were in the drive thru of the Checkers on 183rd near 27th Avenue. Police said a man with a gun came up to the car and demanded money. Evan refused to hand over anything.

"Evan took chase, tackled him, they got into another small struggle," explained Miami-Dade Homicide Detective Rolando DeLaosa. "The subject got up and shot once, hitting, fatally hitting Evan."

Evan was a good student at Carol City High School and had lots of honors from the Junior ROTC and Police Explorers. His dream was to be an FBI agent.

His family figures whoever killed him likely is still out there victimizing others.

"No one commits a crime one time," warned Ronald Page. "He done did other things in this ten year period, a decade.  He probably done did, I don't know what else.  It will be better for everyone if he's in jail."

"Whoever the murderer is, come forward, give yourself up," pleaded Luella Page. "And rest in peace that you did the right thing."

If you have information that can help find the killer, give Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers a call at (305) 471-TIPS.
