Consumer Confidence Falls Slightly In Florida

GAINESVILLE (CBSMiami/AP) — Consumer confidence is slightly down in Florida.
The monthly University of Florida consumer sentiment survey released Friday showed that consumer confidence fell by less than a half a point this month.
This is the second month in a row that consumer confidence dipped in the state.
The new survey shows that consumer sentiment was 88.8 in October. That's on a scale of 2 to 150 benchmarked to 1966 at a value of 100.
Floridians' confidence reached a post-recession peak earlier this year. But there's been a drop-off since then.
Hector Sandoval, director of the economic analysis program at UF's Bureau of Economic and Business Research, said one reason for the drop was because survey respondents who have a household income under $50,000 were pessimistic about their personal finances.
