MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Those taking the Amtrak Monday night may want to seek another form of transportation.

Transportation officials said to expect some major delays in the evening and are suggesting for those who can to seek another form of transportation.

The delay is due to the death of what they called a trespasser on the tracks.

Transportation officials said, just before 1 p.m.,  an Amtrak train heading north hit a person just south of the Golden Glades Tri-Rail Station.

The circumstances of the situation are still unclear. Authorities have not released the identity of the person killed on the tracks.

Chopper4 was over the seen where authorities and Amtrak workers could be seen amid the stopped train. Officers could be seen walking the tracks. A firetruck could also be seen near the scene.
