DAVIE (CBSMiami) - Fans of Trader Joe's in Davie, Cooper City and Plantation - the wait is finally over.

Their newest store in the Tower Shops on University Drive, just south of I-595, had their Grand Opening Friday morning.

The store was originally supposed to open in the end of September but didn't because of construction delays.

The chain's eighth store in South Florida is scheduled to open next Thursday, October 15th, in Ft. Lauderdale at 1590 N. Federal Highway.

It will be the company's 17the store in state. Trader Joe's has more than 440 stores nationwide.

Throughout the grocery store, there are several colorful hand-painted murals that pay homage to the Flamingo Gardens, Tree Tops Park and Bergeron Rodeo Grounds.

The grocer, which has developed almost a cult like following, has more than 3,000 items under their Trader Joe's private label including Trader José's salsas and Trader Giotto's marinara sauces. The private label that means it's free of artificial colors, flavors, ingredients, and preservatives.

Some of the most popular are "Two Buck Chuck," bottles of wine for 2.99 a pop, almond & chocolate croissants, Mandarin Orange Chicken and, of course, Trader Joe's famous Speculoos Cookie Buttercookie products.
