POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) --  A car reported stolen ended up in a Pompano Beach pool early Tuesday morning as a family slept just feet away.

Broward Sheriff's deputies said an unknown driver crashed the stolen car into a pool at a home located at 221 NW 21st Street. All this as Gracie Medee and her family slept inside the home.

"I just sleeping but I just hear that noise... I so scared, I say what happened. When I look in the window, I see car in the water....I so scared to jump in inside," said Medee.

That's when, she says, she woke up another person in the home to help her look for someone inside the car.

"I said jump in. I don't know, maybe somebody in there, maybe people die in the water. I don't know nothing about it," said Medee.

For Dan Emile, the startling wake up call left him in shock.

"I felt like I was in a dream. This happened and it's a reality,"said Emile. "I am speechless...You know what time it is in the morning. People are trying to sleep and get their kids to school. This is not kosher... I need some sleep."

No one was injured, but the driver of the car was also missing. Now deputies are searching for the person responsible.

Meantime, Medee's family is left with the damage done to the home.

"I so scared. I so sick. My heart is broke," said Medee. "I'm just confused."

They say a refrigerator and televisions were destroyed on the patio meant for family in Haiti.

"Somebody better pay," said Emile.

Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crimestoppers at (954) 493- TIPS.
