Golden on Nebraska Week: 'Can't Worry About The Outside'
The Miami Hurricanes (2-0) struggled out of the gate on Friday against the Florida Atlantic Owls (1-1) in Boca, holding down a 20-17 lead at the half.
Eventually the Canes blew it open, coming away with a 44-20 victory with Nebraska (1-1) on deck.
"I think they're doing a great job up there,"Al Golden said of FAU on the Joe Rose Show. "It was a heck of an atmosphere as we thought. As I said to you last week, we knew exactly what we were getting into in terms of their team speed, the activity on defense, how good they were on special teams and how they operate on offense. I thought our guys did a good job settling in, finishing the game, but there are a lot of things we have to grow from and correct and that's what we've been doing here the last 48 hours."
As for the Cornhuskers this Saturday, Golden is preaching focus.
"I think everybody understands what we need to do this week and that's the most important thing," Golden said. "Can't worry about the outside. Can't worry about last week. That's what we need to do to be a consistent team. Just worry about us week in and week out and ignore everything from the outside and just take care of our business. And that's been our mindset since we got back."
