MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Tropical Storm Henri keeps picking up speed and is expected to continue doing so as it crosses the Atlantic.

A turn toward the northeast and a faster forward speed are expected Friday and Friday night.

The storm's maximum sustained winds were 40 mph with higher gusts. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles to the east of the center.

Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours. However, Henri could become a post-tropical cyclone by Saturday.
