MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - Fire investigators are working to determine what caused a house fire that left two people seriously injured Friday morning.

The fire broke out at around 2:30 a.m. at a home on SW 123rd Avenue and 119th Lane. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said two men were sleeping inside the home and managed to make it out.

The men were identified as Jeffrey Loy, 59, and William Wiemer, 55.

Both are in serious condition being treated for respiratory burns and smoke inhalation at Kendall Regional Medical Center.

Miami-Dade Police say investigators have ruled out an electrical issue as a cause for the fire because the home does not have electricity.
