Madden 16 Miami Dolphins Simulation: Greatness

Every year on Madden Day, I ask a friend who purchased EA Sports' latest NFL game to simulate the Miami Dolphins' season because this will help project the team's actual campaign. Why? Simple math.

Last year's Madden 15 sim produced a 4-12 season. They went 8-8.

This year, the sim produced.... an 8-8 result.

How could this be? I -- like you -- thought this was supposed to be their year. But then it hit me. Going 8-8 in Madden means great things for the team's actual season. Here's why:

By employing last year's unbreakable +4 theorem (because the sim said four wins and real life said eight), we know the Miami Dolphins will finish the 2015 season with a 12-4 record because I'm fairly certain 8 + 4 equals 12.

So 2015 really is THE year. First there was the Harvard study. Now this? Every arrow is pointing towards a return to glory.

Take your retirement money, college funds and whatever else you're saving and dump it ALL on the 2015 Miami Dolphins.

Some details of this completely useful simulation:

-- The Patriots went 10-6 and won the AFC East. The Tennessee Titans finished with the league's best record at 14-2, defeating the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl 50. Marcus Mariota is apparently a Madden God.

-- Ryan Tannehill -- gasp -- took a massive step back, throwing for just 2,791 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. He did rush for four touchdowns, though.

-- The offensive line was offensive, though it came from an unlikely source -- Branden Albert. The behemoth coming off knee surgery allowed a team-high 20 sacks on the year. The team allowed 41 as a whole, as Tannehill continued to get thrown around like that poor Bulls fan wife in that insensitive Cavs promo video.

-- Cameron Wake tallied 15 sacks while Ndamukong Suh finished with 8.5.

-- As expected, Joe Philbin was relieved of his duties as head coach.

Stop shaking your head and embrace it -- the Dolphins will be a playoff team at 12-4 this season because simple math. Because Madden. Because Dolphins fans, for over a decade, have grown accustomed to what it's like to be Browns fans and that is just not okay.
