KEY LARGO (CBSMiami/AP) — Authorities have arrested a Key Largo man who allegedly fired shots at Coast Guard personnel during a boat chase.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says witnesses reported an apparently drunk man waving a gun over his head at a marina around Friday night. By the time deputies arrived, they say 40-year-old Daniel Szabo had already left on a dinghy, and the U.S. Coast Guard and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were called to pursue him.

The sheriff's office says Szabo fired his gun at Coast Guard personnel several times and rammed his dinghy into their boat.

The Coast Guard said no one was hurt.

The sheriff's office charged Szabo with fleeing and eluding police and said the Coast Guard would pursue separate federal charges.
