Miami Man Killed In Overnight Shooting

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami police are trying to determine if a man was targeted in an overnight shooting that left a number of buildings riddled with bullets.

"I heard about 40 shots go off, random, boom, boom, boom," said one person who didn't wish to be named in this report.

Neighbors in the area of NW 3rd Court and 67th Street said the gunfire erupted around 2 a.m.

"It sounded like a machine gun," said Lonnie Barber. "It was continuous shooting then they stopped, reloaded and shot again. It sounded like it was very personal whatever happened."

Some residents said they ran for cover because they didn't know where the gunfire was coming from. The bullets pierced walls and shattered windows.

"I heard the shots. I got up under the bed, I thought the bullets was coming into my house," said one neighbor who wished to remain anonymous.

When the gunfire stopped, a man was dead in front of his door. His family identified him as Corey Warren.

Investigators are now trying to figure out what led to the shooting. They're are also trying to determine if they are looking for one shooter or multiple gunmen.
