MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Those who may have thought the Miami Dolphins bullying scandal would fade into the background after the retirement of offensive lineman Jonathan Martin are wrong.

Former Dolphins offensive line coach Jim Turner, who was in charge of the unit during the infamous Bullygate situation, is suing independent investigator Ted Wells, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Turner, along with trainer Kevin O'Neill, were fired by the Dolphins in February of 2014 following the release of Wells' report on Bullygate.

The scandal itself took place during the 2013 NFL season.

Wells was hired by the NFL to investigate the bullying situation after Martin left the team mid-season and subsequently accused teammate Richie Incognito and others of bullying.

Turner was named as one of the main people responsible for the situation in Miami.

According to Schefter, Turner alleges in his lawsuit that Wells and his law firm were hired by the NFL to put together a report that would "placate the public and assign blame to certain individuals, such as  Turner, while the law firm was well-paid and well-positioned for future work on NFL cases such as the one that turned out to be Deflategate."

Incognito recently told Newsday that Wells failed to include information in his Bullygate report that would have shed a different light on the situation and his involvement, such as "Teammate testimony", according to Incognito.

The issue of Wells being an independent investigator has been called into question during the Deflategate scandal and it will certainly be addressed in Turner's case as well.
