FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A Fort Lauderdale woman, who was arrested earlier Saturday afternoon after authorities said they found her husband dead in their home, has been booked into the Broward County jail.

Authorities said a call came in before 9 a.m. about shots fired at a home located at 1940 S.W. 46 Terrace.

When they arrived, deputies said they found Tina Belles, 57, standing over her husband's dead body in the kitchen.

Investigators identify him as 56-year old Rodney Belles.

Neighbors said he is a longtime employee of the ThyssenKrupp Elevator Company.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said Tina Belles allegedly made spontaneous utterances to deputies about having shot her husband.

No word on what prompted the dispute.

Family friend Mike Khoury, who showed up at the couple's home to care for their dogs, told CBS4 that he is in shock like everyone else.

"They were good people. Things happen. I don't have any answers," he said.
