Search Continues For Escaped Inmate In South Florida

MIAMI (CBSMiami) --  The search is on for an escaped prisoner in South Florida.

Authorities said 53-year old Philip Peletz walked away from a road prison work detail on Tuesday morning near Okeechobee Blvd. and E Street in West Palm Beach.

Peletz was an inmate at the Loxahatchee Road Prison.

Witnesses said Peletz got into an older model white pick up truck.

Investigators said they are searching the Loxahatchee area and following leads throughout South Florida.
