Marlins Trade Steve Cishek for Kyle Barraclough
The Miami Marlins traded reliever Steve Cishek to the St. Louis Cardinals for Kyle Barraclough, Marlins President Michael Hill announced Friday afternoon.
The 25-year-old has split time between Single-A Palm Beach and Double-A Springfield this season, combining for a 3-0 record with 12 saves (13 opportunities) and a 2.27 ERA. .
The 29-year-old Cishek was 2-6 with three saves on the season and a 4.5 ERA in 32 appearances. The Marlins selected him in the fifth round back in 2007 and he's currently second all-time in team history in strikeouts by a reliever with 312.
