DESTIN (CBSMiami) -- A day at the beach turned frightening as a hammerhead shark was pulled ashore in Destin, Florida.

The two brothers who wrestled the shark onto the beach were actually trying to help the hammerhead.

Logan Lakos discovered an injured hammerhead shark swimming along the beach on Wednesday. He then grabbed the shark by its tail and dragged it ashore.

Logan's brother, Marcus, began filming the entire ordeal as crowds gathered around.

A video posted on YouTube showed as the crowd gathered around as situation unraveled. Many people didn't understand what was going on. People began shouting for Logan to let the shark go.

What they didn't realize is the hammerhead had become entangled with a hook and fishing line.

With a few volunteers holding the shark back, Logan began untangling the line and at one point pulled a hook out of the shark's mouth.

After a few minutes, the shark was freed. Logan picked up the hammerhead by its tail again and pushed it back into the ocean.

The shark appeared disoriented though and actually swam to shore but Logan eventually dragged the shark into the high water. He released the shark again and this time it swam out to sea.

You could call it brave or crazy, either way these guys are lucky. It's common for sharks to swim close to shore, often that's where they go to find food.
