SWEETWATER (CBSMiami) -- A Sweetwater man is under arrest, accused of forcing a young girl to have sex with him, after befriending her on social media.

Miami-Dade Police said Luis Armando Quintero, 23, forced the girl to have sex with him when she was 11-years old and then again when she was 12-years old.

"We believe this incident, both incidents, occurred within a two-month time frame," said Miami-Dade Police Det. Alvaro Zabaleta.

It was originally reported that the suspect's father, Luis G. Quintero, was Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Sweetwater but, according to the City, he has not been employed with Sweetwater for over a year.

Luis Armando Quintero, a maintenance worker for the City of Sweetwater, according to the arrest affidavit, appeared to be wearing his uniform when he was transported to jail Tuesday afternoon, in handcuffs.

According to Miami-Dade Police detectives, Quintero first contacted the girl using social media when she was 11-years old.

"The subject befriended her and entered her bedroom and that's when he forced her to have sexual intercourse," said Det. Zabaleta.

The girl told detectives the next encounter happened when she was 12-years old.

"On another occasion, he parked his vehicle in the driveway. Once she entered the vehicle, he once again had sexual intercourse in the front seat," said Det. Zabaleta.

There was no answer at Quintero's home in Sweetwater when CBS4's Oralia Ortega knocked on his door.

Neighbors are startled and disgusted to hear the accusations.

"That's crazy, you know. It's something you don't want to hear. It's something you don't want to visualize," said Marck, a neighbor.

Quintero is charged with sexual battery on a minor and lewd/lascivious battery on a child.

He is being held with no bond, according the Miami-Dade Corrections Department website.
