MIAMI (CBSMiami)  --  Miami Police are searching for a man accused of chasing a victim down and robbing him at gunpoint.

Officers said it all started when the armed robber walked up to two friends, Osvaldo Miranda and Jose Martinez who were chatting as they stood near 1415 NW 21 Terrace around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

"All of a sudden we see this suspicious kid walk up the sidewalk," said Martinez. "I didn't think nothing of it. I thought he was gonna ask me for a favor or directions or what have you but all of a sudden, he pulls out a pistol and points it at my face."

The robber demanded their belongings. Miranda stood still because he didn't have anything of value on him.

Meantime, Martinez, ran away, prompting the robber to chase after him.

Surveillance cameras rolled as the robber caught up to Martinez when he tripped and fell to the ground.

That's when, police say, the robber snatched Martinez's bracelet and got away.

"He grabs my bracelet. In what moment, I don't know.  He grabs my bracelet and he takes off running and when I looked up, he was already down the street," said Martinez.

Martinez is able to talk calmly now about what happened but it took him some time to shake it off.

"At first, I was more like stunned, like wow, is this really happening and then after everything happened, I kind of realized, wow, I could've been killed," said Martinez.

Officers released the surveillance video in hopes someone will recognize the robber.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami Dade Crimestoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
