Green: Joining Miami Heat 'Was a No-Brainer'

560-WQAM

If it's up to Gerald Green, the 29-year-old will finish out his career with the Miami Heat, his eighth team since being drafted 18th overall out of high school in 2005 by Boston.

"My goal, is this is the last team I play for," Green said Friday via conference call a day after signing with Miami for the veteran's minimum.

"When they offered me a contract it was a no-brainer. It's not about a contract... I wanted to be a part of something special."

The high-flying Green figures to help in transition at the rim and from deep, where he is a 37-percent career 3-point shooter. His best year was with Phoenix during the 2013-14 season alongside current teammate Goran Dragic where he averaged 15.8 points and 3.4 rebounds, shooting 40 percent from behind the arc.
