MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Its time to get your zen on. All this month and next, it's Miami Spa Month back for its eighth year and bigger than ever.

"We have a record number of spas this year, 36 total. Miami has been known for many great things. Now we are known for world class spas," said Rolando Aedo of The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.

You'll experience world class spas at discounted prices. Most services are $99.00. That's half off during spa month .

CBS4'S Lisa Petrillo visited two spas.

First, The Elemis Spa in Coral Gables celebrating its 25th anniversary. They are offering five massages and one facial for spa month. One particular treatment is the orange creamsicle, a citrus infusion of blood orange and white pepper. It's a sugar scrub that ends with a marshmallow foot mask.

The second stop was the Como Shambala Urban Escape at Metropolitan by Como hotel on Miami Beach. There its all about peace and harmony.

"Como Shambala is a healthy living philophosy. Shambala is actually in Sanskrit. It means center of peace and harmony," said
Spa Director Angela Menoher.

This holistic spa is featuring five of their signature treatments during spa month. They showed us one called the Targeted Deep Tissue and Indian Head Massage. It begins with a relaxing face massage.

At one point in the massage, to get to the deep tissue, the masseuse literally puts all of his body weight on the guest to reach the pressure points.

After an hour of deep massage, the client receives a hot oil treatment on her head separating the hair fair from the scalp .

The massage ends with a stress relieving neck and shoulder massage.

"Spa Month really increases local awareness and it also invites people to come and try therapies that they have not been able to try before," said Menoher.
