MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Sun Life Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins since 1987, is in the process of being renovated to better accommodate fans and hopefully begin hosting Super Bowls again.

While fans are showing to be extremely excited about the changes to the stadium, that doesn't change the history that has been witnessed in the building over the past few decades.

One of the main changes that is already in the process of being made is that the stadium's bright orange seats are being replaced by aqua ones.

On Monday, the Dolphins announced that due to numerous inquiries, a limited number of seats and seatbacks will be made available to fans starting on Wednesday, July 8th at Dolphins.com/seatback.

Season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase the seats during a specific time window, based on tenure.

"A limited number of seats will be sold to Season Ticket Members first (limit 2 per account) during a defined time window based on tenure, followed by the general public. Season Ticket Members from the 1960s and 1970s will have the first opportunity to purchase seats at 11 a.m. Members from the 1980s and 1990s will start at noon with post 2000 Members starting at 1 p.m. The general public can start purchasing seats at 2 p.m., subject to availability."

In addition to the generic seats, the Dolphins will host a series of autographed seat auctions that will take place throughout the year and feature team legends and key players, such as Dan Marino, Larry Little, Jason Taylor and Ryan Tannehill.

All proceeds from the sales will benefit the Miami Dolphins Foundation.
