Man Sought In Miami Bank Robbery Captured

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A man suspected of robbing a Miami bank, and attempting to rob a second, has been taken into custody.
On May 27th, Javier Alvarado, 21, walked into the Chase Bank at 2750 SW 22nd Street just after 4 p.m. and, after implying he had a gun, he demanded cash from a teller, according to the FBI. According to the charges, this robbery didn't go as planned and he left empty handed.
At the time the FBI suspected he may have been involved in a second Chase Bank robbery that day, but so far he has not been charged with it.
On June 22nd, Alvarado reportedly robbed the Chase Bank branch at 2209 SW 37th Avenue and this time successfully stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
Last Friday, June 26th, Miami police along with FBI agents and members of the South Florida Violent Crime Task Force arrested Alvarado in the 2900 block of SW 2nd Street.
Alvarado is facing federal charges.
