Man Charged In Pompano Beach Carjacking

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A North Lauderdale man is accused of making a carjacking a family affair.

On Saturday, June 27th, Virginia Bulla went to a gas station at Commercial Boulevard and Powerline Road just after 10 p.m. to pick up her son.

As her son Dithmar got into the front passenger seat, Tommy Robinson, Shomeka Harris and their young son scrambled into the back seat and told her to "drive bitch, according to the arrest report. Robinson then reportedly pointed a gun at Virginia and Dithmar and threatened to "blow your head off" if they tried to call the police.

Robinson, 28, them demanded Bulla's money as he wrapped a passenger side seat belt around her son's neck and began choking and punching him, according to the report.

Robinson managed to steal Bulla's check book before she was able to bolt from the car and call for help, according to the report.

Broward Sheriff's deputies were able to arrest Robinson the following day. He faces a number of charges including robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery, and kidnapping.
