Focus On South Florida: Summer Swim Program

Statistics show that black children between the ages of 5 and 19 are nearly three times more likely to drown than white children.

70 percent of black children have little or no swimming ability  and for Hispanic children that number is 58 percent.

For the second year, the Progressive Firefighters Association Charities is partnering with the city of Miami Gardens for a summer swim program.

Joining Irika is Lieutenant Keith Bell, President of the Progressive Firefighters Association Charity, and Captain Faye Davis of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
