MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – Headed to Miami Beach for a day on the sand? Now there's a number you can call to check on the weather and beach conditions for the day.

Miami Beach Ocean Rescue has launched a dedicated beach conditions weather hotline.

People flirting with the idea of spending the day at the beach can call the designated phone number, 305-673-7714, to hear a recorded message that provides new weather and beach conditions daily.

"We feel this information will help our citizens and visitors to better prepare for their beach day and ultimately have a safe and enjoyable day on our beautiful beaches," said Miami Beach Ocean Rescue Chief Vincent Canosa in a press release.

The hotline will provide information on tide conditions, such as threat of rip currents or high surf, water temperature, high and low air temperature and details of the colored flag warnings—and what the flag colors mean.

The hotline will be updated daily at 8 AM and a live representative is available all week long from 9 AM to 5 PM.
