MIAMI (CBSMiami) – While much of attention regarding the Miami Heat this summer has surrounded veteran guard Dwyane Wade and his contract situation, there is another guard on the team that has a big decision to make.

According to a report from ESPN, the Heat are planning to offer free agent Goran Dragic a five-year deal worth $80 million, which is well below the max offer that was expected to be on the table for Dragic to sign.

The most that any other team could offer Dragic would be $85 million over a four-year term.

That is only $5 million more in guaranteed money, but the difference in contract length would see Dragic making over $21 million per year from another team while he'd be making $16 million annually from the Heat.

Dragic has said on multiple occasions that he would like to remain with the Heat.

The question now is whether he will still feel that way after being offered a non-max deal.

One must keep in mind that since there is no state income tax in Florida, Dragic would get to keep much more of his salary by staying with Miami than if he signed with a team like the Knicks or Lakers.
