MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The 11th Annual Irie Weekend is off and running and this year's events are attracting a who's who list of celebrities and athletes.

Anthony Mackie, known by many as Falcon from Captain America Winter Soldier, swooped in just in time for a quick scramble.

"I flew down here this morning to win this tournament. I flew in this morning. I'm leaving this evening. I came to win this tournament," said Mackie.

DJ Irie, the Miami Heat's in-house DJ, is raising money for his foundation which aims to empower at risk youth through mentorship programs, cultural experiences and scholarship opportunities.

"Someone of his stature really doesn't have to do this. Philanthropy is something that comes from the heart. I always say your time is so much more valuable than your money and he gives so much of his time to the kids of Miami. It's really inspirational and wonderful to see because a lot of people in his position don't do it," said Mackie.

"We're not coming in just to show face, and it's anything like we're ego driven. It's really about giving back and helping out. It's great to see, especially me living in Miami, it's good to see Irie give back and you can actually see where your dollars, where your help, where your time is going," said Former NFL Linebacker Jonathan Vilma.

"The common goal is that we're helping the kids. You know yesterday we were here doing our golf clinic and 'wow' to see the look on the kids faces out there learning how to play golf and driving those balls. Then Austin Mahone comes out and surprises them. Aw man, it's beautiful," said DJ Irie.

With two events in the weekend, the Irie Foundation is already well on its way to reaching its 2015 goal.

"We're shooting for 300,000 and we definitely have a robust start. We have a robust start and couple more events to go," said DJ Irie.
