MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Cheering on Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and buying t-shirts, a group of Chinese tourists were excited to be in Miami for his big announcement.

And they're not the only ones excited to hear confirmation of the worst kept secret around.

Anticipation has been building, Bush even sent out a tweet, showing time-lapse video of  Miami Dade College's Gibson Center getting set up ahead of his speech.

"I just think it's a great experience, to be able to be a part of. This will be historical whether or not he runs," said Bush supporter Lauren Grulich.

Group Protests At Announcement

Grulich can't even vote yet but she's excited.  She was there with her mom and sister.

"This is Jeb Bush.  He's awesome.  I loved him when he was governor.  I think it's going to be exciting for this election season," said Bush Supporter Nycki Carroll.

Carroll thinks all the hype leading up to Bush's announcement just adds momentum to his campaign.

"You want to build that excitement so everyone is intrigued and wanting to stand behind you and support what you're doing," said Carroll.

One person not excited  is South Florida Congresswoman and DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz. She mentioned the recently revived controversy from  a 1995 book  Bush wrote. In it, he talks about the lack of stigma attached to children who are born out of wedlock.
