MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — The injury bug has hit the Miami Marlins pitching staff extremely hard this season but on Sunday it spread to one of the team's everyday position players.

Marlins third baseman Martin Prado has left his team's game against Colorado in the first inning with a sprained right shoulder.

Prado was hurt Sunday when he took a tumble after stepping on first base awkwardly as he ran out a grounder.

He landed hard on his right side and came out of the game reluctantly after consulting with a trainer.

His status is day to day, the Marlins said. Prado is batting .272 and has missed only one game this year.
