Winderman: Lottery Not as Critical After Additions of Whiteside, Dragic

Interviews-wqam

The 2015 NBA Draft Lottery is tonight and the Miami Heat are players for the first time since 2008 when they landed the No. 2 overall pick (Michael Beasley).

The Sun Sentinel's Ira Winderman thinks the acquisitions of Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic last season puts less importance on how the lottery plays out.

"No matter what happens in the lottery, the Heat's biggest gains already remained," Winderman said on the Big O Show on 560 WQAM. "When they unearthed Whiteside, when they added Dragic. So they're gonna go into next season a much different look than when they went into last season regardless of how the lottery plays out."

The Heat have an 87-percent chance of keeping the No. 10 pick, a four-percent chance of landing inside the Top 3, and a nine-percent chance of dropping out of the Top 10 and losing their pick to Philly.
