MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The mother of 4 1/2 year old is in jail following a dispute over the circumcision of her child.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, Heather Hironimus was booked Thursday into Broward County Jail after she had gone into hiding for two months.

A Palm Beach County judge had signed a warrant for her arrest after she had failed to appear with the boy so he could be circumcised.

Hironimus had been fighting with the father of the boy Dennis Nebus for years over the circumcision of their son.

The couple had split in 2012, but decided on a "parenting plan" that allowed the circumcision.

In May 2014, a state court judge ruled in favor of Nebus' request.

Back in March the judge ordered Hironimus to hand over the child for the procedure. That's when she and her son went into hiding.

A month later, Hironimus filed a lawsuit in order to block the circumcision.

She is being held for contempt of court.
