Choking Hazard Prompts Recall Of Popular Toy

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A popular toy company is recalling thousands of toy police cars because of police man's hat can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Schylling has recalled about 13,200 in the U.S., and about 2,100 in Canada, "Police Press and Go Toy Vehicles" due to the potential choking hazard to young children, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The toys were sold at specialty toy and gift stores nationwide from April 2010 through April 2015 for about $5.

The company has received one report of the hat detaching from the toy. No injuries have been reported.

The toy, a white plastic car with a police head coming out of the roof, has "Schylling Rowley, MA" and UPC number "01964922782" printed on the bottom of the toy cars.
