Dade Issues New Boating Safety Ordinance

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A new ordinance will now allow only a certain number of boats to be tied together on any waters lying within the boundaries of Miami.
According to the new ordinance, passed by the Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez and the Board of County Commissioners, no more than five vessels may raft or attach to each other.
The boats will also have to remain 30 feet apart from each other.
Also, only the three center vessels will be allowed to anchor.
The new ordinance is meant to improve safety in local waterways.
This will also allow a pathway for first responders in an emergency.
